According to a recent CR AES report (July 9, 2024), more then two-thirds of Americans are opposed to price discrimination. It continues to be difficult, however, to prove that the prices we see at in our cart or at the cashier are predatory in some way. Companies may be able to get away with price discrimination because consumers are shielded from what other consumers are paying for the same product as more consumers shop online.
That's where Community Reports comes in. This month's event was a very early listening session about pricing: are people being charged different prices for the same product or service?
We also looked back at another Community Reports project, where we learned that services that delete your data from People-Search Sites don’t work very well, and checked in on a few Community Reports projects happening right now.
