Once again, millions of Americans are getting blank TV screens when they tune in to their favorite channels, thanks to another giant media showdown that has left consumers in the dark. Over Labor Day weekend, DirecTV blacked out Disney-owned channels – including ESPN, FX, Disney Jr., and ABC – as the two companies fight over how much to pay for and distribute content.

Enough is enough! Join us in demanding DirecTV automatically refund consumers for service they didn’t get – and call on the Federal Communications Commission to hold these companies accountable for these kinds of disruptions. Let’s show these giant corporations that consumers won’t be pushed around!

PETITION

Consumers are fed up with having our TV channels blacked out by disputes between giant entertainment conglomerates and the satellite and cable TV industries, and we refuse to pay for service we are not getting. We demand that DirecTV automatically and immediately refund all its customers for Disney-owned channels lost during this ongoing dispute, rather than require customers to proactively apply for a bill credit. And we are calling on the FCC to act immediately to hold these giant corporations accountable for disrupting service that consumers have paid for, and to take steps to prevent future TV channel blackouts.
