A landmark food safety bill was just signed into law in California to ban Red Dye 3 and several other dangerous additives from food products. Working alongside our California members, Consumer Reports fought to get this law passed, and now we want the rest of the country to have these protections, too. Join us in calling on the FDA to ban Red Dye 3 in food products for everyone in the U.S.

This chemical dye is a known carcinogen, and has been banned by the FDA for use in cosmetics for more than 30 years. Now that Californians are protected, it’s time the agency gets this toxin out of food products for all consumers. Sign our petition to the FDA to act now!

PETITION TO FDA

California just enacted a ban on Red Dye 3 in all food products - now it’s time for the FDA to take swift action and prohibit the use of Red Dye No. 3 in all food, medicine and supplements for the rest of the country. This dye, which is a known carcinogen, is already banned in cosmetics. Yet the FDA still allows it in food products – many which are marketed to children, including candy and junk food. It’s beyond time to get this unnecessary, dangerous additive out of our food.
