SXSW 2022
Introducing Permission Slip by Consumer Reports
Description:
With new privacy laws, consumers have gained rights to access, delete, and stop the sale of their data. But exercising these rights is hard and time-consuming. That’s why Consumer Reports—the 80 year old nonprofit member organization— is launching Permission Slip. In this session, we’ll walk through a brand new service we like to describe as “Tinder for your personal data.” Just swipe left on a data broker to access, delete, or stop the sale of your data. We’ll demo the newly launched Permission Slip service and walk through how lawyers, technologists, and designers are developing a new ecosystem of tools that help consumers take control of their data.
