After 50,000 Consumer Reports’ members petitioned the three credit bureaus for free access to credit reports, consumers now have permanent, free weekly access to their online reports! But we still need to hold these giant credit agencies accountable for fixing errors they make on our credit reports that can make or break getting a credit card, a mortgage – or even a job.

PETITION TO CREDIT BUREAUS
Credit reports and scores directly impact our financial security and opportunities, and it’s time the three major credit bureaus fix their broken systems so we have fair credit. We are calling on Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to take responsibility for errors on consumers' credit reports by fully investigating all consumer disputes at a faster rate; empowering consumers by freezing their credit by default; and making sure consumers are not locked out of their credit reports because of inaccurate information used to design identity verification questions.
