A Consumer Reports analysis showed the current standards save consumers $3,200 per car, and $4,800 per truck, over the lifetime of a new vehicle. As gas prices continue to rise, it’s especially critical for us to keep these standards strong. Unfortunately, two federal agencies -- Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency -- have announced a plan to lower future standards, which would cost drivers more money.
These two agencies are holding public hearings. This is a chance for policymakers to hear from drivers about how their plans would negatively impact them. Can you show up at a hearing near you to speak out against the rollback of our fuel efficiency standards?
WHEN: Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 10am to 5pm
WHERE: The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Pittsburgh Downtown, One Bigelow Square, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219
If you’re interested in speaking, we can help you prepare ahead of the hearing. And for those of you too far from the venue, we may be able to help provide transportation.
