It’s a bad deal for consumers, plain and simple. When two giant companies turn into one even bigger and more powerful corporation, their ability to charge us more goes up, and their incentive to offer better service goes down. The New York State Attorney General has joined forces with a dozen states and the District of Columbia to stop the merger, arguing that it will stifle competition and raise prices for consumers.
