Wendy’s: Help end antibiotic-overuse in livestock!

Sign our petition to Wendy's to serve beef from animals not routinely treated with antibiotics. Wendy’s is the third-largest burger chain in the nation, and if Wendy’s acts, then we will have huge momentum in the fight to reduce antibiotic use, and antibiotic-resistant infections!

Wendy’s CEO Todd Penegor:

We ask you to help keep our life-saving antibiotics working by sourcing beef that is not routinely treated with medically important antibiotics. Wendy’s already has taken an important step in this fight by serving chicken that is not raised on antibiotics important to human medicine – now it is time for you to do the same with beef.

Overuse of antibiotics in cattle is a major contributor to the development of antibiotic-resistant infections in people, which kill 23,000 each year. McDonald’s has already committed to reducing antibiotics in its beef supply. We urge Wendy’s, as the U.S. third-largest burger chain, to do the same, and be a leader in the fast-food industry when it comes to this important global health issue.
